SAN DIEGO−In a speech Attorney General Bill Barr warned that communities which don’t respect law enforcement “might find themselves without the police protection they need.” Shortly thereafter, the FBI notified the President and him that it will no longer investigate any threats to either of them.

Reporting the results of his inquiry into the FBI’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential elections, the Inspector General of the Department of Justice concluded there was no evidence “that political bias or improper motivation influenced the decisions to launch the investigation.”  Bill Barr disputed this finding and privately suspects that the Inspector General is a Ukrainian operative.

When President Trump bragged that Rudy Giuliani has dug up “a lot of good information” during his recent trip to Ukraine, I remembered Trump confidently announcing, “I have people that have been studying Obama’s birth certificate and they cannot believe what they’re finding.”

Elizabeth Warren’s wealth tax proposal will assess a 2 % tax on personal assets over 50 million dollars and an additional 1 % on assets over a billion dollars.  Addressing the Israeli-American Council, Trump urged those in the audience not to vote for her because her plan would take away “100 percent of their wealth.”  I surmise that math and statistics were not Trump’s best subjects when he attended the Wharton Business School.

Trump told the same audience, “A lot of you are in the real estate business because I know you very well. You’re brutal killers, not nice people at all.” They enthusiastically applauded because at least he didn’t accuse them of ritual murder.
