SAN DIEGO−Whether Donald Trump holds his daily coronavirus press conferences to calm and inform the public or as a social distance substitute for his campaign rallies, the disinformation he disseminates through them is dangerous. Since he doesn’t read, I am encouraging his closest advisors to have him listen to these cautionary songs before he utters a word.
Eve of Destruction (Barry McQuire)
When human respect is disintegrating
This whole crazy world is just too frustrating,
And you tell me over and over and over again my friend,
Ah, you don’t believe we’re on the eve of destruction.
If I Ever Lose My Faith in You (Sting)
Some would say I was a lost man in a lost world.
You could say I lost my faith in the people on TV.
You could say I lost my belief in politicians.
They all seemed like game show hosts to me.
Lyin’ Eyes (The Eagles)
You can’t hide your lyin’ eyes,
And your smile is a thin disguise.
I thought by now you’d realize
There ain’t no way to hide your lyin’ eyes
Tell It Like It Is (Aaron Neville)
Tell it like it is
I’m nothing to play with, go and find yourself a toy.
Tell it like it is
My time is too expensive
And I’m not your little boy.
You Had to Be a Big Shot (Billy Joel)
You had to be a big shot, didn’t you?
All your friends were so knocked out.
You had to have the last word, last night.
You know what everything’s about.
You had to have a white hot spotlight.
