Golf and the Art of the Double Deal

SAN DIEGO−During an interview with Laura Ingraham, President Trump compared the actions of the Kenosha policeman who shot Jacob Blake in the back seven times to a professional golfer who chokes when trying to make 3-foot putt in a tournament. Though leftwing commentators thought this was an insensitive analogy, Trump views politics from the lens of golf as the following comments edited out of the Ingraham interview indicate.

*

If shooting a hole in one is special, then why isn’t shooting seven holes in one even better?

*

My favorite club is the wedge. It always gets me out of the traps the Fake News sets for me.

*

My golf game mirrors my performance as president. Many people say I am a subpar president. Conversely, Joe Biden always shoots over par-that’s why I have characterized him as the “bogeyman.”

*

If elected again, I’ll give America a greens new deal by subsidizing the building of expensive Trump golf courses on suburban lands that Obama and Biden had set aside for low-income housing. This will also create many caddy jobs for Blacks to commute to.

*

Joe Biden can never win because he plays the fairway, and, I play rough. Similarly, he wears a golf glove, but I always take my gloves off.

*

I’ve been such a great president that I deserve a mulligan even if I lose the election.
