Parody: California Lockdown

Tune: California Dreaming

Laurie Baron

By Laurie Baron

All the beds are full
In the ICUs
I must stay at home.
Watch TV or snooze.
Am I safe from Covid
If I live in L.A?
California lockdown
On such a winter’s day.

I can’t go to church.
I pray alone instead.
I’m left in the lurch.
To avoid being dead.
You know I heed Gavin’s order.
So at home I’ll stay.
California lockdown,
On such a winter’s day.

All the beds are full
In the ICUs.
To shop or eat out?
State won’t let me choose.
When will this pandemic
Finally go away?
California lockdown
On such a winter’s day.
