San Diego Jewish Academy Announces Key Addition to Leadership Team to Help Offer Programs to Broader Community

SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — San Diego Jewish Academy (SDJA) soon will provide more programs and campus experiences to the entire community with the addition of Adam Benmoise to its leadership team as SDJA’s first-ever Director of Auxiliary Programs. The expansion of SDJA’s auxiliary programs reflects the school’s recent growth and will generate income to support SDJA’s core program and enhance affordability. Benmoise’s primary focus will be after-school and summer programs and will include oversight of facility rentals and external partnerships.

“The addition of this new leadership position bolsters our efforts to open up the campus to the broader community and enhance our ability to provide a multitude of engaging programs, learning opportunities, and community experiences,” says Head of School Zvi Weiss.  “Adam brings such an entrepreneurial and creative approach to fulfill the potential of our 56 acre campus to engage students and families in new ways. We’re thrilled to develop significant new revenue streams that will continue making SDJA accessible for families interested in being a part of our community.”

Adam joins the SDJA team after eight successful years as Camp Director of Camp Twelve Trails in New York, the first-ever regional JCC consortium day camp program combining the resources of the region. During his time there, he successfully raised over $5 million and grew camp enrollment each year. Previously, he served as Camp Director at Camp Yomawha and Executive Director of Habonim Dror Camp Na’aleh, also both Jewish camps in New York. He graduated from York University and also spent one year studying abroad at Tel Aviv University.  Adam will formally join the SDJA team in June.

“I am thrilled to be a part of San Diego Jewish Academy and to create meaningful new opportunities for engagement,” adds Adam Benmoise, SDJA’s incoming Director of Auxiliary Programs. “This incredible campus is the perfect setting to welcome in more people and families. I can’t wait to do great things at SDJA and for the community.

SDJA is a pluralistic community K-12 school with a thriving early childhood center. SDJA’s Open Door program reduces the cost of an SDJA education by at least $10,000 for incoming K and 9th graders, and keeps that reduced tuition cost stable for four years. Additional significant tuition assistance is available to families in all grades.
