San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria (center) was welcomed on Wednesday, Aug. 30, to the Holocaust exhibit currently at the Rancho San Diego County Library in El Cajon. From left, a life-size cutout of Holocaust survivor Ben Midler; the exhibit’s curator and Second Generation member Sandra Scheller; Midler himself; Gloria; and Second Generation members Jack Morgenstern and Sam Landau. While at the exhibit, Gloria inspected uniforms issued by Nazi concentration camp personnel to Jewish prisoners and read descriptions of lives of survivors like Midler who made their homes in San Diego.
