Lasker Lodge is looking forward with interest to the forthcoming visit of Supreme President Phil Klutznik.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for many of 0our members to meet him.  As far as we know, it is the only time a Supreme President has honored San Diego with a visit.

Dr. Milton Millman has been doing an outstanding job as entertainment chairman.  The panel discussion he arranged for the last meeting provoked much lively audience reaction and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.  The doctor has arranged for Bud James, the newly appointed County Clerk to speak at the next regular meeting, and this should be most interesting.

More committee heads appointed by President Ralph Feldman were:  American and Civic affairs, Ed Herman; and B.B. Service for Armed Services and Veterans, LeRoy Seckler.

The lodge meetings are getting larger…we counted over 100 enthusiastic members at the last meeting and things are going in high gear, with much activity planned for the year.

Las Vegas Prize Trip Won By Angeleno

Temple Beth Israel Sisterhood thanks the whole community for the grand turnout that made Las Vegas Night such a rousing success.

The grand climax of the evening was the drawing for the big five day all expense trip to Las Vegas which was won by Sheldon Berman of Beverly Hills, a nephew of Mrs. Alfred Breslauer, who sold the winning ticket to him.

But our own folds were lucky too—Esther Kobernick won the famous mile high chiffon cake, and Allan Cohn went home with the beautiful automatic coffee maker.

The semester will really be in a whirl–
If the clubs, parties and dances you’ll give a twirl.

The Temple Teens invites you to their “Sweetheart Swirl,” February 13 at 7:30 p.m., Temple Center, Third and Laurel.  You will dance to the band of Buddy Biotte.  A Temple Teens membership card or $1.00 will be your admission.  Refreshments and a raffle will be part of this lovely evening.  Be there and have fun.

Dinner and dancing made Lucy  Recht’s Sweet Sixteen party wonderfully complete.  Many of Lucy’s friends helped make it a fabulous party.  Lots of luck, Lucy, in your 16th year.

Elaine Shapery entertained a few of her friends at a costume party.  Among the kids were Merle Krasnow, Roberta Wyloge, Ethel Gardner, Roslyn Steffel, Kay Prager, Stan Breitbard, Larry Prager, Harvey Wolff and Arthur Pogrell.

Paul Kaufman has his Fraternity Brother Stanley Gross of Oakland, visiting him.

You will soon see April Soule and Phillip Brenes in a play given by the Junior Theater Players.  Nice going kids.
