Poway, Encinitas fire departments to be honored at Seacrest Village fundraiser Feb. 6

ENCINITAS, California (Press Release)– The Women’s Auxiliary of Seacrest Village Retirement Communities is excited to announce its 32nd Annual Gala, “Cirque du Seacrest Masquerade Ball,” which will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the beautiful Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines.

Honorary Co-Chairs Esther and Bud Fischer are pleased to lead this year’s event committee as Seacrest Village recognizes the Encinitas and Poway Fire Departments for their outstanding service to its residents and staff. Since 1989, the departments have gone above and beyond the call of duty in the care that they provide. Responding almost daily the firefighters and emergency technicians tend to the needs of the residents with tremendous concern for their safety and overall well being.

The Encinitas Fire Protection District was established in 1945 to serve residents of the coastal, rural, and agricultural communities of Encinitas, Leucadia, and Cardiff-by-the-Sea. The District officially became a full city service department in 1995 with a Mission to protect the public by mitigating the impact of emergency and hazardous situations through effective prevention, preparedness and response programs. The vision is to maintain an emergency service delivery system at the leading edge of technology and training supported by an organizational environment of teamwork with a management philosophy of openness and entrepreneurship.

The Poway Fire Department, with its Mission to reduce the loss of life and property from fire, medical, and environmental emergencies through education, hazard reduction, and response, was originally established in 1961. After incorporation in 1980, the Poway Fire Department became the Safety Services Department under the direction of the City of Poway and now serves closes to 50,000 residents in Poway.

The evening will feature a delicious dinner and fabulous dessert buffet followed by a dazzling show of acrobatics, aerial display, Taiko drums, stunning costumes and whimsical comedy that will transport you to the world of Cirque du Seacrest! Guests will then dance the night away to the Big Band sounds of live music – it’s sure to be a night you don’t want to miss!

Each year Seacrest Village Retirement Communities serves almost four hundred seniors between the Encinitas and Rancho Bernardo campuses.  For over forty years, the Women’s Auxiliary has aided Seacrest Village in its ongoing commitment to provide the highest quality of care in a warm and dignified environment for older adults in our community, regardless of their ability to pay.
