SAN DIEGO – Election Day is several days away. I did not vote when I turned 18 because I wanted to know more of the political system and just did not know what Democratic and Republican meant. In college, I took Political Science and had a good teacher at San Diego State University and learned about the political system and realized what party I identified with.
I took my 9-month-old twins in the pouring rain in Dallas in 2012 to vote for Barack Obama’s second term. When he would give press conferences, the twins would announce “Look Mama its ‘Bama!” I have video of many exciting announcements.
They ask for the “Bama’s” to return and have to tell them, sorry, he ran his term, (sad face). There is always Michelle.
My thoughts: people who don’t vote and complain about the outcome really have no say. If you voted, then you did the best you could. We can just hope for the best and pray it is the outcome we Jews need in Israel and in the states. Whoever you vote for, you have a voice and if you voted, it was heard.

JEWISH HUMOR
Chabad of East County shares the following joke: “The phone call” Morris calls his son in New York. “Benny, I have something to tell you. I’m divorcing your mother.” The son is shocked, and asks his father to tell him what happened. “I don’t want to get into it. My mind is made up.” “Dad, don’t do anything rash. I’m going to take the first flight to LA. Promise me that you won’t do anything until I get there.” “Well, all right, I promise. Next week is Passover. I’ll hold off seeing the lawyer until after Passover. Call your sister in New Jersey and break the news to her. I just can’t bear to talk about it anymore.” After hanging up, Morris turns to his wife and says, “Well, the kids will be here for the Seders, but we are going to have to come up with a new idea to get them here Rosh Hashanah.”
