SOLANA BEACH, California – The holiday season brings out the spirit of giving, and this year, the Adopt a Family Foundation’s Holiday Boutique offered a meaningful opportunity for community members to support a crucial cause. Held at the Loma Santa Fe Country Club, the event was buzzing with energy, filled with local vendors, live music, and an outpouring of support for the families impacted by the tragic events of October 7th in Israel.
The Adopt a Family Foundation works tirelessly to provide both financial and emotional support to Israeli families who have fallen victim to terrorist attacks. What makes the organization unique is its commitment to fostering long-term relationships between American supporters and Israeli families. These relationships are not transactional but are designed to create real, lasting connections, ensuring that the victims of terror never feel alone in their recovery.
The Holiday Boutique was an extension of that mission, where every purchase and contribution made by attendees helped further the foundation’s support for Israeli families. From baked goods to unique jewelry and Judaica, the vendors brought a wide array of products that contributed to the event’s festive and community-oriented atmosphere.
One of the most impactful vendors at the event was Chai Vekayam (Living and Existing), a project founded by Sonya Smith. In the wake of the atrocities of October 7, Smith felt the need to channel her energy into something meaningful. The result was the creation of Chai Vekayam, a vendor offering merchandise with proceeds directed toward helping Israeli families. What sets Chai Vekayam apart is that Smith operates the initiative entirely on a volunteer basis, with all profits going directly to purchasing merchandise or sending baskets of goods to families affected by the tragedy.
At the time of the event, 52 baskets had already been sent to Israeli families, and Smith continues to work tirelessly to support victims of terrorism. Her baskets are intentionally sourced locally in Israel, both to support the Israeli economy and provide comfort to those who need it most. When attendees arrived at the Loma Santa Fe Country Club, they were immediately greeted with a warm sense of community. The room was buzzing with conversations, laughter, and excitement as people shopped and mingled. From baked goods and clothing to home goods and candles, there was something for everyone at the Holiday Boutique.
It was clear that the event brought people together not only for the shopping experience but also for the chance to connect over a shared purpose. As attendees roamed the boutique, they came across familiar faces and new ones, united in their desire to contribute to a cause that impacted the lives of many. The overall feeling was one of unity, as community members recognized the importance of supporting families who had lost so much.
Though there was no formal programming or speeches during the event, the cause itself spoke volumes. Every product sold and every interaction in the room underscored the shared commitment to helping Israeli families rebuild their lives.
The Holiday Boutique was a resounding success, both in terms of community engagement and supporting the Adopt a Family Foundation’s mission. It was clear from the packed room and bustling energy that people were eager to contribute to the cause in any way they could. For many attendees, it was an opportunity to come together, support a meaningful cause, and share in the spirit of giving that defines the holiday season.
