META owner Mark Zuckerberg had dinner Wednesday at Mar-A-Lago with President-elect Donald Trump. Incoming White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller told Fox News that Zuckerberg, whose company owns Facebook, previously expressed “his desire to be a supporter of, and a participant in, this change we’re seeing around America and the world, with this reform movement that Donald Trump is leading.” Online right-wing personality Laura Loomer voiced disappointment on the X social media site that Zuckerberg had facetime with Trump. “As an American and die-hard Trump supporter, I am never going to forget how Mark Zuckerberg censored the assassination attempt pictures of President Trump and then programmed Facebook to hide and censor all mentions of the attempted assassination of President Trump.”

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum in a telephone conversation with U.S. President-elect “has agreed to stop migration through Mexico, and into the United States, effectively closing our Southern border,” Trump said. “We also talked about what can be done to stop the massive drug flow into the United States, and also U.S. consumption of these drugs. It was a very productive conversation.” Sheinbaum meanwhile said on the social media platform X that they discussed “strengthening collaboration on security issues within the framework of our sovereignty and the campaign we are carrying out in the country to prevent the consumption of fentanyl.” She added: “We reiterate that Mexico’s position is not to close borders but to build bridges between governments and peoples.”

A Reserve Rear Admiral in Israel’s Navy, Ofer Doron, was identified by prosecutors Thursday along with two other persons as responsible for sending up two flares that landed Nov. 16 in the yard of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s unoccupied residence in Caesarea in protest of the war in Gaza. Doron had been suspended from the Israel Defense Forces in August 2023 after he refused reserve duty to protest Netanyahu’s judicial reform campaign. Two other persons against whom prosecutors said they would file indictments were Itai Yaffe and Amir Sade. A fourth suspect was not immediately named.
