Shameless lackies of the Prez.
Repeating all the things he says.
To procure financial favors
For the loyalty he savors.
The man, whom they once had hated
Must be sated
With acts of their compliance.
His lawless schemes should be denied.
He should be corrected when he lies.
But on X and on now on Facebook.
They have tossed away the rulebook.
‘Cause Elon agrees, and Mark lacks any spine.
Truth’s dead online.
Killed by acts of their compliance.
Senators from the GOP Are cowed by threats of primaries.
They confirm his terrible choices
Since he’ll punish clashing voices.
Even nominees devoid of expertise
Who reek of sleaze.
Receive GOP compliance.
“Dupes,” say I, “You’ve paved the way.
For U.S. freedom to decay.
He’ll erode our constitution
Seeking its dissolution.
I know I will be labeled as a traitor.
An instigator.
Who refused compliance.
And his minions bowed and prayed
To the orange-skinned god they made.
Forgiving his incited insurrection
To void an election.
Ben Franklin mused, “A republic’s hard to keep.”
He’d probably weep
About such craven compliance.
