ENCINITAS, California (Press Release) – With gratitude and appreciation, Seacrest Foundation and the Women’s Auxiliary thank the San Diego Jewish community for supporting the residents of Seacrest Village for over 80 years.
Seacrest Foundation’s Women’s Auxiliary is pleased to announce the 47th Annual Gala—Seacrest Summer Soirée which will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 5:30 in the evening at the beautiful Hilton Torrey Pines in La Jolla.
All proceeds from the Gala will support the Seacrest Village Resident Assistance Fund which provides charitable care for residents in need. These critical funds will provide housing, healthcare, and supportive services to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the residents.
This year’s Gala Chair, Orna Wittenberg stated, “Seacrest holds a special place in my heart as both of my parents were cared for by the remarkable and caring staff. I was able to sleep at night knowing my parents were receiving such good care. I feel so fortunate to be part of the Seacrest Family and am honored to Chair this event. Giving back in this way makes me very happy. We ask our community to honor the residents by making contributions to the Gala which will provide peace and security for those who need a safe place to call home.”
Mary Epsten, President of Seacrest Foundation’s Women’s Auxiliary, stated, “For over 45 years, the San Diego community has turned out in impressive numbers to help raise funds to give hope to seniors who are desperately in need of housing, comfort and support. Approximately $2.5 million in charitable care is required each year. It is critical to support Seacrest’s mission of providing services to seniors in a Jewish environment that promotes community, independence, and innovation.”
The event will celebrate the many residents and families whose lives have been transformed as a result of the care and services they receive at Seacrest Village. Hundreds of guests are expected to attend to support this important cause. The organizers are excited to once again feature Bonnie Foster Productions as the live entertainment for the evening!
The Seacrest Summer Soirée is driven by Orna Wittenberg and Mary Epsten as well as many dedicated committee members including Ellen Addleson, Rusti Bartell, Linda Bennett, Karen Cohen, Suzi Cohen, Keri Copans, Suzi Feldman, Jean Gaylis, Sofia Kassel, Rosalee Kitaen, Sharon Koren, Roxi Link, Danielle Miller, Linda Otchis, Shirley Pidgeon, Marcia Wolochow, and Alana Ziman.
