SAN DIEGO (Press Release)–Congregation Beth Am’s Center for Lifelong Jewish Learning, sponsored by the Mizel Family Foundation, has several new classes starting in February.
To Cry Laughing: Jewish Comedy will be held Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30pm from February 16, 2010 to March 16, 2010. In this multimedia class, Rabbi David Kornberg will lead the group through the many avenues of Jewish comedy. He will use stories, video clips and listen to some of today’s most well known comics to see how the Jewish experience is expressed so vibrantly in this genre. The cost is $35/$30 for CBA member per person.
Fine Wine and Refined Rabbis will be held on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00pm from February 3, 2010 to February 24, 2010. Rabbi Matthew Earne, along with one of Beth Am’s premier sommeliers, Steve Hochberg, invite you to this class that combines wine tasting and meaningful Jewish learning. A kosher wine will be introduced in each session and a commentary written by a Rabbi who shares the same name of the wine will be studied. This class is $15 per session and each session can be attended on its own.
Basic Judaism, Beit Midrash Program, Intermediate Conversation Hebrew, Book Club and Lunch and Learn with Rabbi Earne are ongoing classes.
