SAN DIEGO — Nimpentoad, a book co-written by 12- and 10-year-old brothers Josh and Harrison Herz and their father, Henry, will make its debut at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, with a book signing at the Mysterious Galaxy Bookstore, 7051 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.
The father, Henry Herz, said he did most of the writing, but the boys “would give feedback on the story. This iterative process was accomplished over several years. They also came up with some of the names of the creatures, including the protagonist, Nimpentoad.”
The Herz family are members of Temple Solel in Cardiff by the Sea, where both boys attend religious and Hebrew school.
“Nimpentoad,” according to Henry Herz, “is the story of a courageous and resourceful little Nibling who leads his tribe through the perilous Grunwald forest, overcoming obstacles and encountering strange creatures along the way.”
The father added: “An engaging story with positive lessons parents will appreciate, Nimpentoad also features stunningly beautiful illustrations that make the reader want to climb in and explore the fantastic setting. Some of this artwork can be viewed at www.nimpentoad.com.”
