SAN DIEGO (Press Release) – Two West Coast balloon artists—Sandi Masori of San Diego, California, and Rachel Porter of Seattle, Washington—have teamed up to produce a book-and-video combination explaining how do-it-yourself (DIY) party planners can create special decorations for their parties and special events.

Masori, who has toured television shows across the country to demonstrate easy-to-do balloon designs, is a former elementary school teacher who began instructing fellow balloon artists in the mid -1990s on designs and techniques. Her You Tube channel has nearly 10,000 subscribers and over 2 million views. Porter, who has been in the balloon industry since 1994, has a crafter’s heart and also loves to work with other media. After meeting at various industry conferences, the two decided to team up to produce the book and video series for newcomers who want to make it themselves.
With the upcoming holidays in mind, Masori and Porter demonstrate how to make a holiday tree from balloons, topped with a Christmas star, and also how to make a Magen David balloon hat. The book includes step-by-step photos, as well as a link to videos on You Tube, equipped with a counter, so that the video may be stopped and started as needed.
For January, the book includes how-to instructions for creating football goal posts from balloons to add some fun to your den as you watch the games on television.
Besides offering DIY designs, the books provides basics of the balloon industry, such as how to differentiate the size of balloons by their numbers, laws affecting helium and air-filled balloons, and how weather will affect balloon designs.
