SAN DIEGO–“How come you didn’t run our press release?”
Every editor has heard the question.
But not every editor answers.
Although we have more than 50 regular writers, we have only one person–me–who is editing San Diego Jewish World and posting the stories. All of us are volunteers.
In that I am also researching and writing books, I can allocate only so much time to edit this publication. So I’ve had to establish priorities.
Henceforth, I will continue to post bylined articles from our regular writers. Additionally, as a courtesy, I will continue to post press releases from organizations that help support San Diego Jewish World with their advertising.
In addition, some stories from such news services as JNS.org and Tazpit News Agency will continue to be posted.
But, otherwise, sorry, the line has to be drawn somewhere.
So, if you want to have your event publicized, see if you can interest one of our regular writers in covering it. Or become a member of the San Diego Jewish World family by helping to support us through advertising or sponsorships.
This policy will remain in effect while I’m in the process of writing several books. And, if the muse doesn’t cooperate, that unfortunately could take a long time!
