Donald Trump increasingly is voicing his concern that the presidential election will be rigged. In Trumpese this means forget campaigning and start the coup d’état training. What will happen first: the intervention or the revolution?

This week marked the fiftieth anniversary of the mass killing of 13 people and wounding of 30 more by a sniper at the University of Texas. Texas commemorated the massacre by legalizing the carrying of concealed weapons on college campuses in the state. Campus administrators anticipate a rise in grade inflation and drop in discussion classroom sessions.

A court struck down North Carolina’s Voter ID law on the grounds that its measures to reduce voter fraud “target African Americans with almost surgical precision.” Black Lives Matter claimed that this is the same problem with police rules regarding the use of deadly force during arrests.

The Israeli Knesset passed a law exempting haredi Orthodox schools from having to teach the core curriculum of general studies required for other Israeli schools. There’s nothing like omitting secular education to guarantee the future of Israel as a “Jewish and democratic state.”
