YEMIN ORDE, Israel (Press Release) — After immigrating with his family to Israel from France, Ethan Amram felt isolated at his Israeli school. Instead of listening to the teacher, he sketched drawings into his notebook.

Classified as an at-risk teenager, Amram thereby was eligible to attend the school at Yemin Orde, a serene youth village in the Carmel Mountain area.

There, rather than being discouraged from drawing, he was encouraged to use his art as a means of self-expression. The result was that Amram, now 17, has had his works exhibited at galleries in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and at Yemin Orde.

So impressed were his teachers at Yemin Orde by Amram’s works that they arranged for copies to be made into High Holy Day greeting cards to be sold around the world to raise funds for the youth village.

The cards are $36 for a pack of 12 cards and 12 envelopes, and includes shipping. The inside of all cards reads: “Warm wishes to you and your loved ones for a sweet and joyous New Year” with L’shana Tovah in Hebrew and English. There is ample space left inside to write a personal message. Proceeds from the card sales will support the at-risk and immigrant at-risk youth at the Village and its Village Way partner educational communities in Israel.
