SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — Local playwright Janet S. Tiger is on a roll…or is it a bialy?
Her latest success was winning first place for Day Job and honorable mention for the Jewish-themed Breeding Grounds in the 2016 Script Tease of New Plays.
Breeding Grounds started off this successful year at the Center for Jewish Culture, winning first place from both the judges and audience, and Tiger expanded the five minute piece into a one-act to garner honorable mention.
In between, she was chosen for The San Diego Fringe Festival’s “That24HourThing” and was the recipient of a San Diego Foundation Creative Catalyst Program Fellowship Grant for the upcoming play, Caregivers Anonymous, with Playwrights Project producing in May 2017.
Combined with a monologue every day for over 900 days now, (JanetSTigerMonologueMania.blogspot.com)
it sounds pretty busy for Tiger.
“It’s been a hectic but wonderful year…very dramatic!” said Tiger, whose work has been published and produced throughout the U.S. and internationally, from Kennedy Center to South Africa, from Off-Broadway to Burma.
