Shelley Berman, Nov. 17, 1942 – April 24, 2017

Rosalyn and Shelley Berman, z”l

SAN DIEGO –Shelley Berman was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts.  He joined the U.S. Navy in 1961 and married the love of his life, Rosalyn, in 1962.  Together they moved to San Diego when he was stationed on the carrier USS Constellation, and made San Diego their permanent home.

After the military, he was in the automotive industry for many years.  He then decided to make a major career change landing him as an insurance and financial consultant.  During his lifetime, Shelley was active in the Boy Scouts, the Shriners (Clown Unit), Masonic Lodge as a Master Mason (Grand Poobah), and President of Beth Tefilah Synagogue.  He also enjoyed cooking for large groups of people, including Blue Lodge functions and Synagogue functions.

His greatest accomplishment is his family, which includes his wife, Rosalyn, of 54+ years, his children, Andrea (Michael), David (Sheila) and Roberta, and his grandchildren Ethan and Faith.  Shelley will be forever remembered as a man who was loud and boisterous, always lending a hand to those who asked, and had a motto, ‘my way or the highway.’

Love you forever and always… Your family.
