Fundraising: Garvey Gains on Schiff in California U.S. Senate Race

Between April 1 and June 30, the former L.A. Dodgers and San Diego Padres star outraised his Democratic opponent, Rep. Adam Schiff, by more than $1 million, according to the latest campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday. Respite in San Diego for Sha’ar Hanegev Social Workers

Their time in San Diego is possible through funding from the federation’s Emergency Israel campaign. Closer to the October 7th attacks , the federation and San Diego community raised more than $9 million in emergency aid in just a few weeks. WWII ‘Ghost Army’ Feted at ‘Only Yesterday’ Private Museum

The Ghost Army was comprised of 1,100 specially selected men who learned and practiced deception techniques to fool the Germans as to the location of allied forces. While lightly armed, they exposed themselves to great danger. It’s been estimated the Ghost Army saved 30,000 allied lives.  The Congressional Gold Medal honoring their service was only the 185th awarded since the Revolutionary War in 1776. [Press Release]

Tel Aviv University Researchers Develop Model to Determine Length of a Person’s Step

“Step length is a sensitive measure of a wide range of problems and diseases, from cognitive decline and aging to Parkinson’s,” the researchers say. “The conventional measuring devices that exist today are stationary and cumbersome and are only found in specialized clinics and laboratories.
