B”H Such animus against the People of the Book living in their ancestral land is unbecoming to a colleague who ostensibly shares my devotion to truth, unsparing research in service to humanity. Shocking it is to realize that the prostitution of historical annals in one so learned detracts from the hope that academic wisdom can sip down to common folk; much less the prospect for a peaceful world based on knowledge, tolerance and the eradication of bigotry. Alas, Dr. Cornel West is guilty of perpetuating the mirror opposite of this trio of admirable necessary elements that increase cooperation, empathy and peaceful coexistence among the diverse population of our planet. Clearly, West reflect the problem that has seen Jews as stereotypes and prejudicial objects to first be minimized, then to be exterminated in a most gruesome but efficient manner. West, for belonging himself to a heretofore persecuted Black minority, abdicates his obligation to join with the example of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who, in his time, plainly decried those who would bifurcate anti-Semitism from anti-Zionism. No, he persuasively and insistently taught, to be one ipso facto makes you the second as well; for both are part of the same discredited coin of backward realms. We must not permit Cornel West to circulate among us to preach nonsensical tropes against Jews and contemporary Israel. My friend Bruce has released a credible salvo with which to confront this unworthy candidate for our nation’s supreme office. Let him walk past the White House, rejecting him, invite him to keep going. With fraternal affection, Asher 🙏🇺🇸😢🇮🇱😩🔯🤣
